Support the Workers’ Compensation Claims Department manager with making strong recommendations that will get a team of 7 claims adjusters in compliance, including but not limited to planning and leading training initiatives; conducting file reviews; and statistical/loss reporting. All while maintaining a small pending consisting of catastrophic claims.

Experience / Other Details : The suitable candidate has a proven track record as a supervisor and understands the anatomy of a WC claim from inception through the actual settlement of the claim.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions: • Negotiate fee reductions with hospitals and providers. Review, process and train claims departments on fee scheduling and negotiations. Conduct bill and process audits throughout the various departments including no fault, subrogation and workers` compensation claims. • Provides claims adjusters and attorneys with detailed analysis of medical records and other pertinent medical information significant to allegations in liability claims. • Researches current literature on medical issues • Provides informed opinion on medical issues relating to causality, accepted standards of care and prognosis of alleged injuries/illnesses • Prepares exhibits for deposition, trial or mediation including charts, tables, graphs, power point presentations • Assists in the development of questioning for cross examination of opposing medical experts • Provides individualized training and development to adjusters and/or attorneys • Attends roundtables, mediations, facilitations, settlement conferences, deposition and trials as requested • Participates in special projects as requested

Experience / Other Details : 7-10 years proven track record in NY fee schedule and cost containment; Property and Casualty Carrier experience; medical record analysis and consulting.
